Sections of the Journal
The Journal hopes to be an open space for reflection, discussion, and scientific comparison of proposals from the Lasallian world. To do this, there will be various sections that will facilitate the participation of the greatest number of alternatives possible.
Central themes: organized around a nucleus of topics for reflection that come from the Center of the Institute, and which hope to offer reading keys through a format of duly evaluated scientific articles, either through reports of research underway or completed, or by means of critical research reviews.
The articles should be between ten and thirty pages, double-spaced. In addition, they should have a Summary or Abstract of a maximum length of 150 words, four (4) key words that will serve as descriptors and bibliographic references alphabetized by the author’s last name, preferably following the APA (American Psychological Association) publication guidelines.
In this first stage, the Journal will have eight (8) issues, with central themes that are in accordance with the dynamics proposed by the Service of Lasallian Research and Resources, for the period 2009 – 2014. Up until now, central themes have been identified in an open list which may be modified in accordance with the dynamics of research that emerge from the Lasallian world in these first four years. In principle, the central themes are:
1. October 2010 Identity and association for the educational service of the poor.
2. April 2011 Lasallian Family and association for the educational service of the poor.
3. October 2011 Lasallian teaching yesterday and today.
4. April 2012 Pedagogical dialogue.
5. October 2012 Lasallian education in the context of the 21st century.
6. April 2013 Lasallian education: challenges and responses.
7. October 2013 Formation and accompaniment in association.
8. April 2014 Looking at the future
Forums: will be presented as a type of essay, which include reflections, experiences, opinions or educational or pastoral ministry proposals. These are shorter in length and are also subject to scientific evaluation.
These should be between three and ten pages, double-spaced. It is also recommended that the material contain a list of bibliographical references at the end, alphabetized by the author’s last name, preferably following the publication guidelines of the APA.
Documents: including book reviews, congresses and events from the educational and pastoral ministry world that would be relevant to Lasallians overall.
